Kansas Speedway Honored by Community Blood Center

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (March 13, 2008) – Kansas Speedway has been named “Newcomer of the Year” by the Community Blood Center for the ‘Spirit of the Heartland 100’ blood and marrow drive the speedway held on Sept. 11, 2007.

“We’re honored to be named Newcomer of the Year by the Community Blood Center,” said Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “This award is a testament to not only my staff’s hard work, but to the giving nature of the Kansas City community. I look forward to an even greater blood drive this year.”

The Spirit of the Heartland 100 was Kansas Speedway’s first blood and marrow drive in conjunction with the Community Blood Center and the NASCAR Foundation. The second annual Kansas Speedway blood and marrow drive, the Spirit of the Heartland 200, will be held in the Kansas Speedway Media Center on Sept. 9, 2008.

Kansas Speedway tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 866.460.RACE or logging onto www.kansasspeedway.com. Packages include tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Kansas 400, the third race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the NASCAR Nationwide Series Kansas Lottery 300, the IndyCar Series Road Runner Turbo Indy 300, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series O’Reilly Auto Parts 250 and the IndyPro Series Kansas Lottery 100. The ARCA RE/MAX Series Kansas Lottery $150 Grand is April 25, which is Kansas Lottery FREE Day at Kansas Speedway. Grandstand admission on April 25 is free, courtesy of the Kansas Lottery.

O’Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying Day tickets for Sept. 26, Sprint Fan Walk tickets and pre-race pit passes are also available online or by calling 866.460.RACE.

Parking is always free at Kansas Speedway and fans can bring in one 6x6x12-inch soft-sided cooler with their favorite food and beverage.
